   I'm curious if / how !ubuntu tv could work with proprietary services like Netflix.

     @brianwisti I'd assume they'd lock it down until nothing "open" or "free" is left. Pretty much how Linux kernels on TVs work today, sadly.

     Server code could be locked down tighter than an inappropriate metaphor, true. But the client's GPLv3. Could get interesting.

     @brianwisti As for Netflix: I guess they just won't have it. As you say, GPLv3 sounds good. Netflix's licensors won't like it.
