I always thought reciprocal a reasonably accurate+neutral term, but sadly actual uses of term all problematic.

@Evan Your Ebola licence will initially have a quicker uptake but in the end be less popular than the hereditary one.

I agree 'hereditary' is correct in principle, as is, arguably, 'viral', but I think connotations of both are confusing and/or !disturbing.
