     I have the feeling many manufacturers will make it happen anyways. Many laptop makers use similar strategies to lock out drivers, etc.

     @kirschner Nothing is necessarily resolved for x86 based platforms until we hear strong commitments from OEMs.

     @kirschner no, it's not. it will be up for hw vendors to add features to UEFI implementations to ensure customers have alternatives
