Screw Gravatar - http://ur1.ca/7svpt #libravatar
-
@jacobwb have a look at https://launchpad.net/services-libravatar for a !php !libravatar library that does all the work for you
-
How does it compare to Gravatar? In terms of users, and specifically the legality of it. I'm not looking to run my own instance.
-
And is there a way to use it primarily, but also have a fallback to Gravatar?
-
I'm curious to hear the answer to @jacobwb's original question: Is there any reason not to integrate Gravatar into Free Software? !fs !fsf
-
@laurelrusswurm I’m coming in late but it looks to me like Identi.ca uses Gravatar already
-
http://ur1.ca/7svpt may provide some hints...
-
@jacobwb there's a feature comparison with Gravatar here: http://wiki.libravatar.org/features/
-
@jacobwb By default, it redirects to Gravatar automatically when it doesn't have an image for the hash you requested.
-
@parlementum near as I can tell, Gravatar has no freedom issues; still, consumer choice is always desirable
