dear !identica !support, I'm still unable to follow any remote twitter accounts, please help fixing it!
-
Isn't the Twitter bridge only one-way? If I recall, it takes your posts and carries them to T, but not from T to Identica.
-
@lnxwalt I'm pretty sure t is two-way. For example, see the !parlementum public timeline. There are T-folk.
-
On !Identica, the Twitter bridge is one-way (two-way is disabled)
-
@onni please have a look at http://status.net/wiki/Twitter#overview [and help to expand it]. thanks!
-
I have never been able to use ostatus with #Twitter - the #Twitterbridge plugin works fine but requires once own #StatusNet instance
-
Added a Twitter account via OStatus hasn't worked for me either… is there some trick?
-
@samatjain As far as I am aware, Twitter does not support #OStatus or any other federation protocol. They see no need to federate.
Hugh Barnes likes this. -
@onny Just so you know, Twitter does not support federation, so you can't sub to Twitter users except through a T account.
-
But the twitter bridge could act as a proxy.
-
@zoowar Yes, and my original response assumed the use of the T-bridge.
-
@zoowar but you still require an account there.
-
@lnxwalt see no need to federate? How about morally opposed to federation.
-
@douglasawh I doubt that morals play a role in their choice. Quite simply, they're the big dogs and don't need to interop with others.
-
Yes, I know. However the StatusNet Wiki's Twitter page mentions it has somehow worked for some people…
-
@lnxwalt choosing money and power over freedom is a moral decision.
-
@samatjain you can hand construct an RSS feed for any public twitter account and import it as a mirrored feed to your t…
-
Good to know, thanks! Observation: it's a bit of a PITA to discover RSS and Atom feeds on Twitter…
-
@samatjain yes twitter doesnt make them easy to find.
-
@samatjain oh, sorry! i didn't know that !ostatus doesn't work anymore. :( i still get tweets in waves: identi.ca/march/all/twitter/tagged
-
@douglasawh Yes and no. For those who see it in those terms, it is a moral issue. But they may not see the moral issue,…
-
the choice to compete is a moral choice, whether they think of it in those terms or not. is murder not immoral if you don't think about it?
