Anybody knows how can I make #thunderbird open links from mails in my default browser and not #firefox ? !kde !opensuse !linux
-
@cyberkiller By using another email client (sorry had to do the joke since is sad they are not using xdg xd)
-
@cyberkiller Check if !openSUSE has xdg-email and configure thunderbird's mailto: handler to invoke that. It should lauch default e-mail app
-
Funny, Thunderbird keeps opening links for me in Chrome, and NOT Firefox—and I want them to open in Firefox
-
@cyberkiller @samatjain Edit -> Preferences -> Attachments. Under Content Type, scroll to http. Select the browser in the Action column.
-
My "Content Type" list is empty, not sure how to add to it…
-
@samatjain: Change the default browser in KDE system settings.
-
That's set correctly. All my other KDE apps use it. Thunderbird does not
-
@hook Does Thunderbird even care about KDE settings? I doubt it...
-
@sredna Thank goodness I use a distro that Google doesn't support so it can't do that :D
-
@samatjain http://ur1.ca/7zc4f might be helpful.
-
@cyberkiller Did you configured your browser in System Settings->Default Applications->Web Browser->Default Componet
-
@amon0thoth1 Yes 'e has and Thunderbird has never cared about KDE options whatsoever :)
-
@amon0thoth1 oh wait, that was @samatjain who configured that :)
-
@cyberkiller Changing the web browser invoked by Thunderbird http://is.gd/GOXTVf !kde
-
@cyberkiller You could report it as a bug to your distro.
-
@sredna and chromIUM?
-
@sredna degoogle-ized chrome, essentially. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chromium_(web_browser) http://www.chromium.org/Home
-
@dhraakellian it's actually the other way around, AFAIK: Chrome is the "googleized" version of Chromium :D
-
@jankusanagi fair enough. I blame my inaccuracy on the character limit. >.>
-
@lonestaritaly Already tried this, didn't work :-/
-
Thunderbird should use the default browser. Works fine here.
-
@samatjain and @cyberkiller: menu Edit, Preferences, Attachments. Change http/ and https/ to open with your preferred browser
-
@zxsinclair the attachments list is empty (already said that) :-/ also Thunderbird defaults to gnome apps for all attachments :-P
-
@cyberkiller ok that is strange, I can chose from all installed browsers
