Switching from Pidgin to !bitlbee. I like it so far, but I'm wondering how one uses IRC channels there. Anyone have any useful information?

@r7 Ah, so its support for multiple channels (allowing /join #blah, for example) is just for IRC completeness?

@takeshitakenji well i think of it best as "just another #irc server i'm connected to" !bitlbee

@r7 Do you have amusing conversations with yourself in other channels?

@takeshitakenji in !bitlbee, # channels represent Jabber MUCs etc. & channels are control channels; you can have several to organize buddies

@wgreenhouse Ah, the buddy organization was exactly what I was talking about. Do you have a link that explains more?

@takeshitakenji ask bitlbee about it :) try "help set fill_by" and "help channels". You can move buddies by rules or with /invite.
