Canonical pulls plug on !Kubuntu http://identi.ca/url/66153884 !Linux
about a year ago from web- Sergio Tridente repeated this.

That's open to interpretation. Kubuntu will probably be fine… but I'm at least now shopping for another distro
-
@samatjain Arch is great. It may look scary but it is actually easier than it looks, and surprising stable.
-
@samatjain I think you will find very few distros apart from OpenSuse that have paid staff dedicated to KDE
-
@zxsinclair @ddevine I'm partial to .deb-based distributions, makes my options few…
-
Not necessarily looking for paid staff, but want latest releases…
-
@samatjain Try Debian. Forget the rest.
-
@samatjain Sooo why not Kubuntu? Nothing has changed in that respect. Only if you had a support contract you won't in 2018.
-
@samatjain Give Chakra a run. Ive not been able to use any other KDE based distro after Chakra.
-
@samatjain There is ZevenOS-Neptune available which comes with the newest and collest KDE stuff (4.8) and based upon Debian Testing.
-
Probably will stick w/ Kubuntu for the near term. But otherwise I've been unhappy w/ Ubuntu—each release has had annoying problems
-
@rajitsingh @llelectronics Thanks for the tips—will check Chakra and ZevenOS out!
