     A lot of people feel this way. Now that identi.ca is stabler, and freelish.us reborn, XMPP is coming up my list.

     Install StatusNet, enable XMPP interface, try posting to it and receiving messages.

     I just tried. Starting the daemon fails because queung must be enabled. Don't know how to do that. No plugin or config option.

     @jpope after the fix mentioned by @sazius I don’t find having the XMPP bot running a very heavy drain on CPU or RAM.
