I’m contemplating going bookless on my train trip. Just some ebooks & audiobooks on my laptop. #minimalist #traveler
-
@parlementum Travelling light is always good. I love trains; I'm more likely to be looking out the window when I'm travelling by train.
-
@parlementum before trip I buy few paperbacks for $.25 each @ goodwill, read 'em on trip, leave 'em in destination city when done
-
@parlementum ...of course nowadays I read mostly public-domain books on my phone, making very easy traveling.
-
@parlementum Unless you're planning to stay at destination 3+ days, I'd take 1-2 books and leave laptop home.
-
@jonkulp that would be the smart approach. I’m either taking Darwin’s Voyage of the Beagle, The Yule-Cordier Marco Polo, or something else
-
Beagle most worth the read. But, I found I read it in chunks over time. Not a book to rely on for a trip, IMO. Have fun!

What a difference one letter makes...
-
I totally recommend it. Train would be good; infuriatingly airplane still requires turning off computer etc. during takeoff and landing.
-
@jasonriedy one letter? i’m confused
-
@vanden ah yes, i’m so fond of physical books but they are so heavy and my goal is to travel with 2 carryons
-
To paraprase, you said: I might not take books. I will take ebooks.
-
I really like my ereader. But, nothing beats knowing you helped kill a tree.
Psychedelic Squid likes this. -

that requirement is unenforced. I never turn anything off. um...I mean, I always comply with TSA regulations. such a pain!
-
book vs. ebook, I think
-
Wow. That is so not the letter. (k v. (none))
-
@jasonriedy I don't follow the clue. But, sorry for intruding with a misinterpretation.
