@toscalix What kind of activities are you doing? I set up a work activity. I might set up a leisure one.

@toscalix: You do know that stopping the activity will clear it from RAM?

@toscalix Really? I had abandoned virtual desktops the minute I laid eyes on Activities.

@kete "on-line" with kopete, konversation, choqok etc. "browser" with tabs I usually need "off-line" with other local apps

@hook yes but still, nepomuk+akonadi+strigi+kontact+firefox/rekonq+effects...2Gb sometimes is not enough

@fayazbhai I'm used to virtual desktops so it's going to take me a while to work just with activities, if ever

@toscalix: Yeah ...I feel your pain. Luckily my laptop has 4 GiB of RAM ...otherwise I'd have to cut somewhere. #Amarok is quite hungry.

@hook yes, but it is also a cool app. and I love it. It looks like with 2Gb you cannot have it all right?

@toscalix: I dunno. Maybe if they made it a bit less of a RAM hog, it'd help ;)

@toscalix @hook you know there's !clementine, right? I loved #Amarok for a long time, but 2.x is too heavy; clem's not.

You can disable plugins, services and scripts you don't need/want in order to make #Amarok less memory hungry.

you can stop activities you aren't using and they are unloaded from memory .. that's the reason for the stop button :)
