@eff if you use #https to get data from a trusted place to an untrusted one, it's not really that secure.

https doesn't secure the endpoints, it secures the transit, protecting communication from unauthorized searches.

I understand that. I think that most people are more concerned about abuse by service providers than MITM attacks.

If people don't trust services they choose, they would trust less services they don't choose--every hop along the transit path.
