     @lstench No, you can't merge them. Your #identica acct will remain separate from your account on your federated #statusnet instance.

     @lstench short version: untar on your server, a+w a few directories, set up your database, fill in statusnet/install.php

     The cheap way to do it is to use the feed system.

     @lstench You need a separate database for statusnet, yes. you can use mysql, pgsql, or sqlite
