     Bitlbee is the XMPP-to-IRC thing? I don't know how it works. Sorry.

     I know there's an XMPP threading spec; I don't know how Bitlbee uses it. I think a lot of clients open a new window per thread, not optimal.

     There was a very cool MUC thing that worked well; can't remember where it is now.

     I'm just using identi.ca via the twitter API with the native bitlbee twitter api support (via libpurple.)
