Off to #lfcollab tomorrow. 1st ✈ Monday #JFK → #SFO is crowded. 20 hrs before ✈, I'm 7 of 0, which isn't a #Borg designation. Upgrade #Keno.

Off to meet @bkuhn and other members of #TheEstablishment
-
Sitting just a few meters from @fontana at #lfcollab. #Facebook's #Amir_Michael is speaking about #OpenCompute project.
-
!disturbing: #Amir_Micahel's #OpenCompute requires a #CLA. Turns out it's the #Apache CLA, but still, why no inbound=outbound? #lfcollab
-
#lfcollab: If folks were wondering, #OpenCompute is a 501(c)(6). Too young yet to see who their members are (no Form 990s yet).
-
@bkuhn he says a lot of things
-
I like Apache-style CLAs (or GPL-style Yoyodyne sign-off). Makes things clear. What's "inbound=outbound"?
-
inbound=outbound, contributors retain copyright and license their contributions under the same license as the license the project is under.
-
Ah, right. But that makes it much harder to change the license as a group.
-
Yes, that is the main benefit. Contributors know the license will not be changed to something they do not agree with.
-
Contributors can pre-approve license upgrades by using a "or any later version" clause typically used with GPL projects.
