I've been bit by #666691 .. CANNOT LIVE W/O EMACS.. please hurry rlb !!
-
Reading dent, I first thought the bug was in fact "I cannot live w/o Emacs". Then I realised that's not a bug but a feature of the universe.
-
@sazius that isn't the title, but there is a real Debian bug: http://ur1.ca/8vgpz (might push me to build emacs24)
-
I had some trouble getting emacs24 working on Debian squeeze, but since you're affected by this bug I assume you're not running stable.
-
@sazius living on the edgy baby! Debian unstable+experimental - the only way to fly!
-
Man, even testing makes me jittery! My main system is on stable and my "crazy" system is on testing :-)
-
Lemote is cool! I've never tried Arch. I tried Gentoo ~10 yrs ago - changed some compile option which broke everything. Not my cup-of-tea :)
-
@sazius I was using gentoo for a while, there’s a lot I like about it (use flags in particular), but updating always …
-
I've come to realise that I just want something that works. That way I get to spend more time programming. I guess I'm getting old :-)
-
@sazius after spending an evening configuring Xmonad, only to have it break at the very end, I’m inclined to agree.
-
:-)
-
@sazius you're getting wise
-
I guess after many cycles of trial and error you learn something.
