Hmm, been up all night and still am trying to get my first !arch box to run the way I want it to. Though it is plenty of fun.

@mvdan That's the disadvantage of !Arch over out-of-the-box working distributions. The fine degree of control it gives you is good though :)

I like the idea of rc.d. Much simpler. Though I miss aptitude's ncurses interface.

@neildarlow I find that once you have done one Arch install, the next one is quick and easy. A steep, but short learning curve.

I've been a slack user since about 96. I have a laptop with arch & a few kvm guest vms using it. Was time to move the host as well.

My RFS's are still there, and I will continue to package for debian via a chroot environment. But yes, for now I switched completely.

@mvdan Welcome to arch, then :) I've learned more about Linux in the six months I've run arch than in the last five years combined.

I've used Debian for about fifteen months, and it taught me well. Arch seems to be teaching rather low-level stuff, which is always welcome.
