@mlinksva @laurelrusswurm and yet "digital native" is really on the rise ;) http://ur1.ca/92fvf
about a year ago from mbpidgin-
@ciaravero I also thought of internaut but decided to be nice and keep it to myself. ;-)
-
is that because you are not internaughty? (sorry)
-
@laurelrusswurm yep, but I expect as it suffuses all of real world, hybrid words and prefixes treating as separate thing will go archaic...
-
@laurelrusswurm ...this expectation certainly biases me wrt words like netizen. I can be wrong for long time, eg [e]mail #eprefix
-
@mlinksva You are so far ahead of the curve that you don't see the need for words like netizen from those who are only just getting online
-
@mlinksva People new to the Internet don't realize we need the rights/responsibilities of citizenship online; "netizen" gets idea across
-
@laurelrusswurm I did admit to being wrong for a long time. I'll add that likely means forever for many topics I hold opinions on.
-
@mlinksva True. Still, don't discount the idea that the word "citizen" may end up being replaced by the word "netizen" :)
