!debian #wheezy netinst cd: installed / on luks+LVM but on reboot, passphrase do not work, seems to have a wrong keyboard layout, any idea?
about a year ago from Hotot-
@daks Well, I guess you either figure out your passphrase with current keyboard layout, or re-install everything, I'm afraid
-
You can try other KB layouts using a live CD, if that helps.
-
@manu no problem with a livecd with the correct layout, i don't understand why it doesn't work, i'll try again with a squeeze cd
-
@luishenrix i did it and still got the problem, but it seems i have been quite impacient :) and wheezy installer may not be ready…
-
Wheezy w/lvm+luks should work. Maybe during the install something "happened" ? You can add a new (easy) key to boot and see. #pebkac ? : ]
-
@manu "pebkac?" maybe, but what it's sure it that busybox shell, which appeared after failed passphrase entry, is in english layout 1/2
-
@manu when, on my current laptop (migrated from squeeze or before to wheezy) has not this problem: busybox uses french layout… 2/2
-
@daks Although you type the LUKS pass blind, after you press Return your keypresses are echoed for a bit — could be useful to find layout…
-
Perhaps a bug in the installer as you suspected. You can maybe fix that via Grub.conf ? If it really is a bug -> bugreport. :]
