@johnnynull I don't know how people used to ride around of those! Unless I was in a hockey crouch, with a stick in my hand, it was awkward!

Wow, I am seeing a lot of broken sticks this year in the playoffs! #nhl

The sticks these days are extremely thin.

@jpope I chalked it up to less use of composites and carbon fiber. Back to real wood. (but just a hunch)

I thought they were mostly composites and very few players used actual wood any more.

The thin composites are much lighter but break quite a bit easier. #ICouldBeWrong

@jpope You'd have to ask my brother. He is the hockey player in the fam. I haven't been on skates since the pond hockey days of ~'88-90.

@nybill @jpope meaning, I played on ponds up until ~those years. A local guy even made a Zamboni for the local pond out of a riding mower.

That is awesome. :) I never played much hockey in my youth. Both of my brothers and mother played roller hockey for awhile though.

@jpope Oh yeah, summers we would play on inline skates on pavement. Everyone always laughed as I always wore the back wheels out first.
