a dvcs based wiki would scale perfectly, because you can relax concurrency when needed. Just scale fork-and-merge style ( hatta-wiki.org )

hatta sounds like a great starting point for that. You only need to add the polish, instead of building everything from scratch.

Oh, you don't know about Gollum? That's the really popular ruby one that Github uses for all their wikis (git-based, obviously)
