   @Kevie the codec option if memory serves me correctly is in 12.04. It is a little tick box.

     @satipera @kevie installed with the alternate iso, so maybe that option wasn't obvious, I've seen it in the past 2 (I think) desktop iso's

     @satipera I used the alternative iso as Ubuntu didn't like my graphics card,maybe it is there, but it certainly wasn't obvious

     @Kevie I almost missed it myself. 2 tick boxes one for codecs the other for update during install.
