I've left the limit at 140 to remove the ellipsis possibility, and as a discipline measure: I tend to get wordy. :)

I no longer care about the 140 char argument. Time, software and identi.ca has moved on.

I set mine to 340, that way I can use more if I need to, but I know it'll be "ellipsised" if I've got less than 200 left in the counter :-)

I think that's true, but it also means there's a lot of opportunity for small players.
