Can anyone recommend a place to get free ssl certs?
-
@jonkulp anyone use StartSSL?
-
I got one from startssl. The process of getting it and is a pain in the ass but, it’s free. ;)
-
@mavjs thanks turns out I already have acct with them but am having trouble verifying ownership of my domain. Gott set up email on it first.
-
@jonkulp if you have zoneedit, they do mx forwarding/mail forwarding.
-
@x1101 do you set that up in zone management?
-
@jonkulp I havent done it, but I probably should
-
@x1101 ok I figured it out. in the managing zones interface there's a tab "mailforward" where you set it up.
-
Yeah, I cheated and have my domain email forwarded to my gmail through dyndns. ;)
-
@jpope I just set up forwarding with zoneedit and it works great. :D
-
@jonkulp the thing I worry about is being able to 'send as' that address...
-
@x1101 actually I still haven't gotten their confirmation email, only the test I sent to myself. I bet if you use some…
-
@jpope Is that cert good for mult subdomains (*.jpope.org)?
-
If you mean my self-signed cert, that was my attempt at a wildcard cert. ;)
-
Which is why if you would go to https://jpope.org you see the cert actually says micro.jpope.org.
-
#damnurlshortener. “I signed up for jpope[dot]org and micro[dot]jpope[dot]org” cc: @lnxwalt

@jpope If I’m buying a cert, I’ll pick someone I trust.
