the psychological implications of using "accomplishments" for non-games is pretty shocking imho. i wonder who has thought that bit through.

@aseigo I am not usre if there any psychological implications to speak of. If someone doesn't feel comfortable, they don't have to use it.

i'm operating under the assumption that the purpose of creating such a system is provide/create incentive. perhaps i misunderstood?

That's the idea, but my point is that if someone feels uncomfortable about using it, they are free not to. It will not be a default.

@jonobacon Never mind just read the spec. It's interesting but has some side effects.

@jonobacon merely making them opt-in by no means ensures safety from psychological implications, it merely mitigates.
