@bkuhn I grew up in #Flatbush and later even farther out in #Bayside Queens (a !disturbing place). Parents both worked in #Manhattan.

@bkuhn probably you!
-
Thanks for your quick response, @evan. Indeed,appears that ppl at my #cow-orking facility apparently enjoy participating in #cutwail #BotNet

That's a risky hobby.
-
@tmarble Problem is, @bkuhn feels compelled to work in a #cow-orking facility. My theory remains that he does it for the comedy material.

I seem to somewhat regularly pass through !NYC now at least some weekends, though yes, it would be very tough to actually live there...
-
That was apparently the first dent with the #Flatbush hashtag.
-
@dyfet if you can make it there, you'll make it anywhere, but it's up to you.
-
@bkuhn Is a different #cow-orking facility not an option? Or find a FOSS friendly company that will donate office space to the conservency?
-
@fontana Did you ever see the movie "Lords of Flatbush" ? You're probably too young to have seen it.
-
@fontana See Wikipedia: http://280.status.net/url/97732
-
@lnxwalt280 I never saw it but was aware of it being re-shown on TV; understood #Winkler role to be ancestral to #Fonz character
-
@fontana I didn't know that, but the small part I saw convinced me that it must have been one of the ten worst films of all time.
-
@lnxwalt280 I have also assumed it played a minor role in advancing the important 1950s retro cultural movement of the 1970s in the US
-
@lnxwalt280 speaking of the '70s you also have to include the #SgtPepper movie starring Peter #Frampton & the #BeeGees in #TWFOAT
-
hehe #Wikipedia says producers of #SgtPepper film thought it would be 'this generation's Gone with the Wind' http://ur1.ca/9h53f
-
@fontana I think that American Grafitti and Happy Days together were enough to spark the 1950s retro.
-
@fontana I'll have to see if local #thriftstore has the DVD. I can always send it to #SonTwo or #GrandsonOne / #GrandsonTwo.
-
@lnxwalt280 don't forget critical role played by #ShaNaNa's well-received appearance at #Woodstock in 1969
