     It's nice. On Mint Debian at the moment, with Xfce - can't decide between that and MATE.

     @laurelrusswurm MATE is an attempt to continue Gnome2, and Xfce is a somewhat lighter desktop environment. I am back on Fedora 17 Lxde ..

     @laurelrusswurm Mint comes in various versions, with different desktop envsornments, not that the qaulity is up to much these days

     @laurelrusswurm Mint was originally an "improved Ubuntu". Now there is an "improved Debian" Mint also.

     No, Mint is an independent distribution, derivative of Ubuntu & Debian. Fedora is another beast.
