Arg. Apparently Amazon Instant Video no longer works on Linux (at least while using firefox) because of Adobe's stupid update policy. #anger
-
@muelnettweets it depends on the video for me. Roughly 2/3 will play.
-
I'm finding the same thing. Doctor Who plays, Sherlock and Star Trek don't
-
@muelnettweets odd mix of old & new too. No way to predict what will play or not.
-
HD or not HD doesn't seem to affect it either.
-
@muelnettweets @parlementum - But it has DRM and needs proprietary software to work so it's defective *by design*. !dbd
-
@jxself I don’t use any proprietary software with it.
-
@parlementum Then how do you watch it? Isn't DRM in free software kinda pointless? !dbd
-
@jxself Your argument is with Amazon not me. I watch the movie gratis on my FAIF OS & software…in this case the iceweasel browser.
-
@jxself it’s really no different than watching a DVD or using a cell phone to make a call, neither of those are DRM and/or non proprietary.
-
@parlementum DVDs contain DRM too. It's called CSS: http://ur1.ca/05aur
-
@jxself yes I know. But im guessing you watch them. That’s my point.
-
@parlementum Indeed but I get them secondhand from other individuals. Don't want to reward companies for what they do.
