-
BTW, it's interesting that some people seem fine with the idea of 3d printed organs for medical purpose, but not lab grown meat?
-
@cwebber that is interesting, I think people are more used to the idea of questioning the provenance of food.
-
@kevingranade what if you could 3d print "meat" at home and culture your own ~tissue cells for it? Then you'd know the provenance.
-
If you used your own cells as the tissue base, you'd definitely know the provenance of your food. ;) #disturbing?
-
I also spend a lot of time learning delicious vegetarian recipes. I wonder what effect artificially grown meat will have on vegetarianism?
-
@cwebber *I* don't have a problem with it, I'm just proposing an explanation for the oddity. I'd totally eat my own cloned flesh.
-
This gives "Manwich" a whole new #disturbing context, especially given this picture https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manwich

@cwebber maybe you're interested in the chickpea magazine kickstarter campaign then. Looks promising. Sry no link atm as im on my android.
-
@johnnynull ok, what about cloning organs for cunsumpltion? #offalistasty
-
@cwebber also gives "Sloppy Joe" a disturbing context, particularly if you happen to be named Joe :)
