Major problem w/ proprietary social networking & collab sites is each individual refuses to take responsibility for his/her promotion of it.

@zack,even having an account is bad. Using it actively for a project, of course, is much worse. I'll write a blog post on "drawing the line"

My patronage involved porting git to various older OSes. Their vendors hence have made compat. layers. No longer interested in proprietary.
