@mvdan nope. I couldn't find any contact information for the original code writer.

@jezra Anyhow are the two licenses OK next to each other? Because if not, that might cause me trouble at getting the package into Debian...

@mvdan I hear that they are not, but no one has told me *why* they are not.

@jezra I think it's because the GPL considers CC-BY-SA to be an "artistic license", thus making it rather not suitable for software.

@mvdan I think it has to do with the GPL covering the code and compiled binaries created from the code.

@jezra So, what should we do about it? There must be some workaround to this situation.

@mvdan we need to contact the original code writer and ask him about licensing.... or do a clean room rewrite of the code.

@jezra I recall the code wasn't extensive, surely we can write our own from scratch.
