Please help edit the Jamendo article so it doesn't get deleted due to notability issues: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jamendo

#Jamendo and #Wikipedia notability has been going on for almost a year. More WP deletionist nonsense http://ur1.ca/9qx27

I'd cite to my podcast, but you aren't supposed to do that. Here's one that might help: http://www.musicmanumit.com/2012/07/new-jamendo-120703-music-manumit-podcast.html

So Jamendo is notable, but citations to non-notable sources aren't allowed. Deletionist nonsense! Reminds me of Nobility-Commoner class wars

@douglasawh @bobjonkman There is a "WikiProject Record Labels" which would cover the mainstream 4 (buying print adds gets press/notability)

@douglasawh @bobjonkman if #Wikipedia doesn't find !Jamendo notable, how many Indie labels can they cover?

@douglasawh @bobjonkman If #wikipedia says blogs are non-notable sources, blogs run by Newspapers/Magazines oughtn't to count either. #FAIL

@bobjonkman @laurelrusswurm Jamendo was on French TV. Does that count for anything?

of course, ultimately the source of the information is #Jamendo, but I won't tell if you don't: http://creativecommons.org/weblog/entry/5779

@douglasawh Frankly, I think #wikipedia's biggest problem is the notability BS. It makes Wikipedia unreliable from my standpoint.

@douglasawh the fact Wikipedia would even *consider* deleting !Jamendo is a perfect illustration of why people stop contributing #whybother

It's one thing to contribute to #wikipedia, but the tipping point for many is unwillingness to spend life defending #subjective notability

@tekk my suspicion is "notability" is a way to give power to volunteer editors that costs #wikipedia nothing #superpower

fair enough, on both points, which is why I want to get the notability flags removed for the things I care about.
