      Too bad I don't use emacs. Nyan-mode would be a serious reason to do so. :)

      @cwebber I didn't know that nethack.el supported tiles!

      @jfm @failedvegan You should really try crawl instead. No emacs integration, but holy-shit-amazing.

      Also the only roguelike where playing in tiled mode might be better than textmode #heresy #textmodestillgreatthough

      Honestly, I have a nethack game in progress on my tablet that I haven't touched in over a month; no time for new roguelikes!

      I'm kind of in disbelief at the excellent UI in crawl

      And I do mean the ncurses UI. It's *that* good.

      @dno The ncurses UI is good; there's a lot of things crawl does amazingly well: scrolling maps, non-cardinal aiming, spellcasting, etc

      I think the most interesting part of Crawl though maybe is the "philosophy" of game design at the end of the manual http://ur1.ca/9rahl

      nyan-mode is pretty funny :) I use it, too. Can’t say why but it feels good to have it :)

      Yeah I've been turning it on occasionally. Definitely doesn't really help me out, but makes me happy.
