      @solidstatelogic usually not, only for windows partions basically. still if you paranoid you could try clamav and also check out rkhunter :D

      You can also look into #tripwire, which will report on suspicious activity and system changes.

      Only install software from the Ubuntu software repositories, and you'll be quite safe.
