@lstench Morning. I have a working debian. Huzzah!

@vanden hey there!!, What did you do to fix it?

@lstench Tried to boot from a wheezy usb; new and different grub error. On reboot, my BIOS grew a splash screen & GRUB worked. Deep voodoo.

@vanden wheezy it is then!! So all is working well then?

@lstench Well, it was the squeeze install that GRUB found after failed wheezy usb boot. As said, voodoo. But I did move repos to testing.

I usually do a very basic stable install then upgrade to testing. Wheezy has been pretty pain free for me, and I've been on it for a while.

@vanden Actually I prefer to run testing., So how many install are on there?

@gomerx That's what I did. So far so good. I'm installing a fsck-load of wheezy packages & approaching t/ moment of reboot truth. Toes x-ed.

@lstench Just the one. I couldn't boot from the USB (some GRUB error) but afterwards squeeze install & USBs booted fine. Now on testing :-)

@vanden okay I misunderstood thought you installed both squeeze and wheezy, you didn't you used the wheezy usb to recover

@lstench Likely my bad; groggy after long struggle. Plus, odd and hard to 140 characterize.

@vanden no worries, glad you are up and running. Are you enjoying it?

@lstench Not yet; always takes me a few days to tweak a new install and I don't find that fun. Expect I shall like; always ran deb-derived.

@lstench I do anticipate liking the freshness of (post-freeze) testing. Happy to have enough boxen so I now can risk breakage. :-)

The freeze period can be a bit chaotic, but Debian chaos is like stability for other distros.

@vanden true I am still tweaking mine, I like the fact that once I am done I am done. KWIM. Debian is a workhorse.
