Identica is sometimes really weird toward !feds sites. @expatpaul and @mcnalu have gone invisible in the past 24 hours, but I see @x11r5.
-
That's a +1 for setting up own !statusnet instance :)
-
I haven't been able to receive any of @jrobertson's federated dents ever :-(
-
Or a -1, depending on how you look at it, I suppose :-)
-
Have you noted that all "invisible" users located somewhere on identica? :)
-
No. I have identified several feds who are invisible to me #fedoff
-
You are such a tease, James!
-
I have no "invisible" feds and federation working perfectly. So, !vivalafederation :)
-
Also, I'd love to have my own SN instance, in principle. But it's way beyond my technical expertise and (current) learning capacity.
-
That's great for you, not so great for me and others who have problems with federation. But yes, onwards and upwards :-)
-
Have you ever install any php-scripts, like phpbb, ipb or something like that? Istalling own statusnet instance not so …
-
Do you speak English? Look, believe me, I've tried. I don't have the time or the will for this nonsense.
-
Don't be so agressive please, yes, I know, my English is not so perfect as I may want. I trying to help you, not insult…
-
@dvdmrsdn dude if I can do it ANYONE can! :-P
-
I'm not being aggressive. If anyone is, it's you, persisting. The English thing is a joke for fuck's sake (don't talk geek a to a non-geek).
-
As I already suggested, let's do a /thread. Stop flaming and blaming, please. I want to help you, not insult you. Realize that, please.
-
@dvdmrsdn You only need to have a working LAMP, then installing status.net is trivial, takes 10 min. plus tweaking.
-
Trivial for you, maybe.
-
No, really. Unpack the thing into a subdirectory, run a php script, few choices, bang. You can try it at home before go…
-
As I said, earlier, I have tried several times before. I even have a one-click install option with my webhost, but it still doesn't work.
-
Ok, then. Maybe there’s some gotcha in your hosting, like a missing dependency, and then it’s difficult indeed.
-
I tried uploading myself, too (to be fair, it worked before SN 1.0). That's why I asked the hosting provider for a one-click install...
-
@lnxwalt how odd, I'm pretty sure I've changed nothing.
-
@mcnalu I’m certain it has nothing to do with anything you’ve done. Just some server weirdness.
