@johnnynull ... But now it's a case of keeping her comfortable for her last few months.
-
A very brief !tzag to the !Identiverse for now. It's vet visiting time.

@morph I'm not but it turns out that the dog is a lot more ill than we'd realised
-
@expatpaul That’s sad. Poor doggie ):
-
@morph @johnnynull Thanks both. It was quite a shock when the vet told us just how bad a state the poor dog is in.
-
@expatpaul sorry to hear about your dog. treatable?
-
@expatpaul :-( poor dog.
-
@mcnalu Unfortunately not. She has lung cancer and an inflamed liver. Because of her age, the vet is recommending palliative care only.
-
Sorry, to hear that :-(
-
@sandersch Thanks. She seems okay in herself, but her age is going to catch up with her soon.
-
@dvdmrsdn Thanks

@ghostdancer !Tzag, and thanks.
-
@expatpaul Sorry to hear that :(
-
@mcnalu Thanks. It was quite a blow when we found out - she's too resilient for her own good
-
@johnnynull Thanks. She's almost twelve, so she's done quite well for a German Shepherd...
-
@expatpaul not sure this helps, but wee reminders of mortality like this helps us humans keep perspective, I think
-
@mcnalu I think it does, yes
-
@expatpaul Condolences. I'm glad you are opting for a palliative > curative response; it makes me mad & sad when old dogs get chemo, etc.
-
@vanden Thanks. And yes, quality of life matters more at this stage than trying to add a couple more months
-
@expatpaul not equivalent but my mum made the same decision upon cancer diagnosis | time with us @elsmussols instead of in hospital
-
@expatpaul My favourite dog ever had 2 runs of chemo and 1 surgery in last year. Was 16. I was very upset with my friend.
-
@r7 I can certainly understand that. There comes a point when being with loved ones becomes more important than simply clinging on.
-
@vanden That sounds like a very painful way to go :-(
