Microsoft has some nerve to call linux a cancer and then to sponsor linux expos which further spread that "cancer" what a piece of shit
-
@lefty I don't think rms is taken too seriously these days. After his remarks started flying about miguel I lost all hope in rms & fsf.
-
That hurts. Fuck you euro cocks
-
@lxoliva I can build darwin as I see fit and run as I would like regardless what changes apple makes to the darwin they ship as part of osx.
-
@lxoliva afaik apple does not publish the source code of the version of darwin they build for their devices with ARM arch
-
@bkuhn freebsd can and has been able to build with llvm-clang for some time. Will be default shortly.
-
@bkuhn Llvm is fundamentally superior imo and why not go to it if you can?
-
@bkuhn projects like freebsd want to leave gcc behind too and are.
-
@bkuhn they're not avoiding gcc only because of gpl, llvm imho is vastly superior in most ways. I'm sure non gpl is plus for them too?
-
@bkuhn what? Does it matter what their motive is? We have source code so they can do what they will, no?
-
@lxoliva do you really think gcc can continue to compete in the long run?
-
@lxoliva they don't like gcc. They have their xcode deal and gcc doesn't work with it the way they want, that's why theyre pushing llvm
-
@lxoliva yeah that's fine though, they're providing employment to continue an OS project that we can all benefit from.
-
@lxoliva whether we would use clang or write our own front end or whatever I think we on the linux side should keep an eye on the projects.
-
@lxoliva I think it is superior to gcc in many ways, not all. even at this early stage. If there is better tech we should use it imho.
-
@lxoliva you're a compiler guy right? What do you think about llvm-clang, you don't dismiss them because they're "bsd licensed" right?
-
@lefty :-)
-
@lxoliva binary drivers that execute in the kernel not ok but for peripherals it is?
