One of the benefits of typed !clojure would be if the documentation tools could make use of that metadata. Especially when using protocols.

Aleph has been slipping from it's former speed. ztellman is working on some perf improvements, but I haven't tried them yet

ztellman is a gifted coder, he will make what is possible. I would like to add an example where async is faster than sync already now.

There's something about !clojure I like very much. The code seems to be extremely succinct, even when compared to scheme. But JVM speed :/
