!lazyweb: anyone know a way to encrypt !irssi passwords on disk, but can be read on start? using !gnupg possibly? !crypto

I guess one could script that somehow. Actually my passwords for mutt are in gnome keyring along with a python script that fetches them :)

@eightyeight I was recently introduced to the dice method of generating passwords . I trust gravity and a cube to be random.

-
@Marjoleink the only thing I do that with is Keepassx.

@luishenrix: Including /boot?
-
@hook no, /boot is not supported by software. you need an HW/BIOS support for that. Or have /boot on a removable media.
-
@luishenrix: Thought so. I hoped you found something new. Although at least GRUB2 should bring some advances in that.

when composing an encrypted mail, it's probably a good idea to mask the subject, or leave it blank. "pgp" is a good subject. !crypto !gnupg

@eightyeight Or perhaps title it like spam.
-
@takeshitakenji well, i would like the SMTP filters on the remote side to not flag it as such... ツ
-
@eightyeight Hopefully they don't flag messages with empty subject as spam, too.

i don't understand why !gnupg users want #idea support, when they don't _have_ to support it. it's clearly inferior. !crypto

yes, you can import any random object you would like to use as a 'private key' in symmetric encryption. you can't with public key !crypto
