Dear !DocBook 5 people, what do you use instead of XML entities for common text snippets, considering a DTD declaration is no longer needed?
-
@mjog !DocBook 5 transclusion is a flexible replacement for #XML entities. Could use XSLT 1 | http://ur1.ca/4k1h5 | http://ur1.ca/4k1ha
-
@mjog simple unexhaustive #xslt 1.0 transclusion demo not in !docbook namespace. To use it make docbook-xsl import it. http://goo.gl/ypDoU

Should I use !LaTeX or !DocBook 5 for this writing project? Is DocBook5 ready for primetime?

@eightyeight @support Regex & wildcard searching with *actionable* search results (also in grp context) could be a great help for gr.admins

#53622478 @pietercolpaert which reminds me, you could use either !docbook or #rst for building your slides, then export to #pdf. works great

Ugh, #DITA uses CALS tables. Can't re-use my !DocBook code because I have to deal with conrefs and specialization.

An interesting introduction to #Mallard as replacement of !docbook for !gnome http://ur1.ca/smj7

DocBook - I still love you, and love semantic markup in theory. But I also like getting things done fast. Thus my dalliance with AsciiDoc.

@dbs I've used !txt2tags for awhile. Converts to !sgml but !docbook and #asciidoc targets only added recently http://ur1.ca/q17m

i'm enjoying restuctured text so much, i'm half-temped to change my !debian documentation from !docbook to rst, or even #latex. thoughts?
Sunday, 03-May-09 21:14:12 UTC from xmpp-
@atoponce really serious about using reST huh? I do think LaTeX or reST are simpler than docbook, if only for the lack of open/close tags
-
@atoponce !xfce is considering using #reStructuredText for docs, but some hangups are translations and lack of gui-specific syntax.
