Fun !drum exercise: play "she'll be coming around the mountain" with your snare while holding quarters on the ride & 16ths on the bass drum
-
Gig scheduled in a few weeks, no more messing around. I declare war on my double bass !drum chops! Leg muscles, I'll see you in hell!
about a year ago from mustard -
I have two days booked at a local practice space this week for some !drum set action... am excited!
-
This is really awesome: http://is.gd/clBq0 'Enter Sandman' in swing time is surprisingly good. !drum
-
Set my drums up on sheets of wood paneling so I can practice playing on bad slick stages. There's no time to fool with !drum rugs live.
-
Practiced on the !drum set after being away for a few weeks. My left hand doubles and triples are a litte weak but it felt great to be back.
-
Nothing beats sweating up a storm playing an open solo on !drum set. Had a lot of fun playing with dynamics to create extra drama.
-
Home from practice, replaced a ripped black pinstripe head with an Aquarian Hi-Energy.(their site looks terrible!)-> http://is.gd/2qYH8 !Drum
-
Home from practice, the first layer of my new Remo black pinstripe !drum head cracked. This has happened before. I should switch brands. :/
-
@bgryderclock i got an evans fan

home from flyering for the Evening Muse gig. Installed a new hoop my Snare !drum. It's sounds great now.
-
Pizza for dinner, ordered a new snare !drum rim. The drum store guy said it was stretched and warped... Why can't I have nice things?!?! :(
-
@jlathian: it's a pearl marching snare. it's a few years old but I love it. http://is.gd/239rh - http://is.gd/239Kh
-
@jlathian: The hoop seems pretty standard, not the scary 1" high hoops that I see on some marching !drums. I'd chop a finger off with them!

Practiced playing set tonight in slow strobe light. Cymbal nut popped off mid-song, Ride cymbal started swinging wildly. No !drum injuries..
-
Watched a MST3K with @BADP3NN1, changed my rack tom !drum head, Ebony Pinstripes for the win. My Kevlar snare heads are still en route. :/
-
@bgryderclock I use a coated Power Center Dot on my snares. Love the sound... I used to use the Remo CS batter heads before using Evans.
-
@bgryderclock I use clear EC1's on the tom batters and clear G1's on the tom resonants. Nice fat thick focused sound.
-
I replaced my ride cymbal's squeaky aquarium mount with this Pearl Wing-Loc-Release thingy, it is a lot louder now. http://is.gd/NJUP !drum

I'm slowly learning that the way to keep time when playing a !drum beat is by paying attention to the feeling, not the timing.
