@ghostdancer I don't mean to cast too much doubt, but it would be nice to see some source. If ddg is a wrapper for Bing, show me the code.

@mattl from what they say they use several engines like Bing, Wolfram Alpha and others i can't recall and their own data, don't know more.

@hook webshortcuts, yes. I've done it. What I'm talking about is a runner to circumvent that and use duckduckgo's services

@hook ie. "!quotes firefly" vs. "dd:!quotes firefly". alternatively, I could just make "quotes:" web shortcut, but I'd rather not duplicate

It's just a straight proxy, but better than nothing (I'velearned the hard way that even 'friendly' pages can be harmful)
