@encycl nope. It’s atheros 9k (9485, hence the need for ndis). dmesg had nothing, except for the bt (also atheros chipset)

I really don't get why !FreeBSD insists on keeping TeTeX in the ports tree instead of TeX Live. This leads to tons of problems...

Raised the securelevel of my !FreeBSD vps up, set up PF and installed sshguard. I guess I'm a bit safer now...
