Latest versions of !gwibber are fairly shitty, the integration with pure !gnome systems is failed, a typically !ubuntu made-for application.

- David, Tom Lausvuo and snarf repeated this.
-
I see they've given up and rewritten it using QML
-
and even an old version requires *huge* numbers of patches to work in fedora http://pkgs.fedoraproject.org/cgit/gwibber.git/tree/
-
@postblue I have to agree with you, it's very anti-Linux. I was very disappointed, I've moved on to! bitlbee.

Q re: !identica / #pumpio: Will there be an outbound #twitter bridge at launch? (One of those "you had *one* job, dammit" issues for me =)

I'd suggest monitoring this bug report: "#PHP client package" http://ur1.ca/dqfoy

"Pidgin/libpurple doesn't support StatusNet [ ... ] contact the author of that plugin directly." makes sense.
-
@clacke from further "research" it seems that the StatusNet plugin of !adium is just a rewrite of the Twitter connectio…

Here's an old (re)dent from @craniumslows@identi.ca http://oracle.skilledtests.com/url/4136

@evan Will !identica clients, like !turpial, !pino and !gwibber etc still work after the switch to !pumpio? (would be great)

There's an open bug for it; see http://identi.ca/url/75551432

But definitely ones that hard-code the "identi.ca" domain will not work. Client devs should be porting their code.

Is anyone else not getting replies in twitter or identi.ca from !gwibber? I get them in the main timeling, but not the replies timeline.

@parlementum I tried that. We'll see if it works!
-
@gamerchick02 In my case it seems an intermitent issue mainly identi.ca associated. I just catched your reply from Home instead Replies.

Let me tell you what goes on with me: I see a number on GW's place on the launcher, I try to read the messages and I find difficulties..
-
What ! !gwibber 3.4 depends on Unity ? o_O as in... Ubuntu's Unity ? #weird (this would explain a lot, though...)
- Alberto Oses N. repeated this.
-
I can't give an opinion because I used GW shortly. I became a little bit used to GW with Unity.. But many things seem 'weired'
-
hm not that bad.. testing atm !pino, instead of !gwibber, as micro-blogging client on !trisquel 5.5.. but a up-to-date ppa is missing, or?

sous precise, en client GTK y a apparemment rien, vous confirmez ? !libre heureusement choqok est là, et vivement la 2.5 de Turpial !
about a year ago from Choqok-
@postblue ok merci pour les infos. Tiens faudra tester si !gwibber sur !LMDE gère status.net comme sur !archlinux ou non comme sur !ubuntu

Also, !gwibber seems to be working better. *crosses fingers*
-
@gamerchick02 In fact, It started working again with your last reply
-
@amon0thoth1 Yeah, it's now working just fine.
-
@amon0thoth1 How strange!
-
-
-
@amon0thoth1 Yes. I've seen that with Choqok 1.1 on !openSUSE 12.1 running KDE-4.7.2. It happens quite often.
-
@neildarlow It was fixed autmagically a few hours earlier. All versions !Choqok 1.1, 1.2,. 1.3 !openSUSE 11.4, 12.1 Spooky and Weird
-
@neildarlow It seems happening with different identi.ca clients (intermitently). Probably related with identi.ca server connection.

Sorry, ought to actually say it - F15 and F16 are on 3.1.0. F17 branched is 3.3.2
-
@bruce89 Oh, that's interesting. Seems to be Python based. The version I didn't like was Vala based. Nothing against Vala. Pino is great
-
I'm about to try !Gwibber for the 1st time in a while (months actually)
-
Am now using the !gwibber client.
-
#geekwarning Not sure I like the direction my fav microblogging client is going. Native RTs fixed, but UI is shot to hell. !gwibber
