@webmink no, thank *you*! it didn't help that some self-proclaimed open sourcers (e.g. mr torvalds) are not quite for sw freedom
-
@webmink he and other important OSS voices helped distort the picture and made room for nonFS to pose as OSS

I'm pretty happy with !Ubuntu, but if anyone can convince me why !Linux Mint !Debian Edition is better, I am willing to give it a try. !lmde
-
@claudiom yes?
-
That was more in response to @faither. Not sure why the Linux group was included with that. #Newdentica feature I guess... :-/
-
I've used every Ubuntu you can think of throughout the past 3 years or so, never quite satisfied. But I ventured out and LMDE is for me.

@zyth Just tried on a Phenom II X4 955, ~950MB/s. And it's pretty cheap. I think I'm going to buy one myself. !hurd

@zyth Does your processor feature RVI/NPT? What numbers are you getting from a "dd" test?
-
-
@fontana BSDs used far less core GNU components, they had their own. GNU+Linux OTOH started as entire GNU system - HURD + Linux
-
@mcepl I just saw the game in action at a friend's apartment. "Gee, it sure is 2004 in here" re: graphics & gameplay
-
@mcepl they seem to be a disorganized collection of programs for GNU/Linux systems
-
@mcepl some of them probably wouldn't work on any other system. most are no more specific to Linux than to GNU
