Is it so obvious that it's not doc'd or is there really no way to have #maxima give !math answers in proper fractions (e.g. 3/2 -> 1 1/2)?

huh, !lisp's (floor) function actually does exactly what I want in multiple return values. just wrap that up on a (proper-fraction) and done

The problem with developing in !lisp is you start to expect that if you don't like the syntax of the language, you can just change it.

@duck1123 Is that bad? In the Fortran-60 days there were many preprocessors to add structured programming, and we know how C++ started.

@barryfm When I wrote that, I was writing some Java code that I didn't like the looks of and was upset that I couldn't change the syntax.

@duck1123 Java is pretty ugly. But a preprocessor could help with its verbosity and generate better looking code then any IDE I have seen.

Is there a way to use #maxima for !math in !lisp rather than lisp in maxima? (i.e. I want to interact w/lisp and call maxima not vice versa)

apparently a !lisp-mode collision. fixed, but maybe not the right way. does !emacs !lisp have namespaces/packages?
