I'm looking for an scheme compiler/interpreter that is designed to be embedded into C/C++ application just like Lua, any suggestion? !scheme
about 4 months ago from web- Dr Tony Mork repeated this.
-
@sepisoad You haven't given any specific goals. If you are looking for lightweight, how about chibi-scheme.
-
@barryfm, #chibi-scheme is almost what I was looking for, though i need to investigate it more, thanks for letting me know about it

As of a few minutes ago, over half of the commits in the lua-repl repository are in the plugins branch. !lua

Added further enhancements to @prosodyim LDAP plugins thanks to Petter Ericson; having contributors sure feels great! #oss !lua

I just started writing a new !lua library: a pure Lua implementation of require(). http://status.hoelz.ro/url/278

+1. I was thinking about implementing a little web app in !lua a while ago.
-
I don't know about lightness or dependencies, but I know there is a Ruby implementation of OStatus called #rstatus. http://rstat.us/
-
... I also don't know whether the code is deployable other than their own instance.
-
alternatives to #StatusNet that implement !OStatus are always good. it makes it a real standard, then.
Bigou likes this.

Today I saw the #javascript "(function() { ... })()" idiom applied in !lua. Ew.
-
You can use do ... end to limit scope in Lua. Much cleaner, in my opinion. =)
-
@hoelzro Indeed, but the only thing I could think of was: loadstring("print(\"hello\"")() but I'm not sure if that's what you ran into/saw

Speaking of #github and !lua, here's an example !vim plugin I wrote with #queqiao, my new Vim-Lua bridge: http://bit.ly/phdoWk
-
TIL that @github doesn't handle !lua long strings very well in Wiki pages (you have to do [=[ ... ]=]; [[ ... ]] won't display well)

Embedding !lua and debug.debug http://hoelz.ro/blog/embedding-lua-and-debug.debug !vim (expanding on http://identi.ca/notice/83242966)
-
Dear !lua embedders: if your app doesn't use stdin/stdout in a normal way (gui/curses apps), please remove or override debug.debug.

My micro code repository http://is.gd/7WGskg usable with !linux, !ubuntu, !ocaml, and !lua at this moment

@rakotomandimby cool sample, but what advantage does that have over using filters built into gmail?
-
@rakotomandimby gotcha, thanks for clarifying.

@hoelzro used clyde. not very interesting comparing to yaourt or packer. except that it is written in lua.
-
@b4283 I can't say for packer, but yaourt isn't interesting compared to clyde because it's just a bash wrapper for pacman (minus AUR parts)
-
@b4283 of course, don't get me wrong, yaourt is a great tool, and better than clyde at installing from AUR, but clyde uses libalpm directly
-
@losinggeneration: exactly, yaourt may not be intriguing technological-wise, but it's a good working piece of software.
