   my !octave finite element code http://ur1.ca/6kx9p just drove my CPU above 100°C and !Ubuntu shut down without warning or asking. :/ Ouch.

     There should be a visual or at least audible warning ;). The syslog line only reads "Critical temperature reached (100 C), shutting down."

     @archena I had a function that was only in C that I wanted to call from !Octave. Was pretty easy to make it into an Octave function.
