To be slightly provocative, what can I do in !Xfce that I can't do in !LXDE? Choosing between these desktops for a newbie in !PCLOS.

@chriswaterguy I chose !xfce over lxde just b/c I didn't need to go that lightweight. I enjoy xfce, but #lxde heads might be able to do ...
-
@chriswaterguy everything I do in !xfce like rotate wallpapers, mount devices... I know #lxde theme is customizable.

@gomerx Arrrg! Sorry to hear that.

Want to demo #PCLinuxOS - how polished are !Xfce & !LXDE versions? Light is better, but KDE's ok if it's definitely "nicer". !Linux !PCLOS

@chriswaterguy Can't vouch for the "lighter" versions, but PCLOS Gnome and Zen Mini are very nice and easy to use, with plenty to offer. :)

Shame that !PCLOS does not have !Gnome Shell in the repos, however someone was trying to package it for me, but got issues, unless he lied.
-
Well I did not physically install when I had originally intended to, but what a great distro !PCLOS is!
-
I am really glad that I have been using !PCLOS for a while now after getting rid of !Fedora and trying !Ubuntu 11.04 Alpha 1 with !Unity
-
@gomerx I think you'll be pleased. !PCLOS does some tweaking to the KDE GUI, some branding and such, but all in all I was very pleased.
-
@gomerx Oh.. If your using wifi, set it up at the live cd portion of PCLinuxOS, and the settings will be copied over for you on install.
-
@marcusharrison talking about visuals? IMHO, both aren't visually great. kde.org looks a bit better, though. !gnome !kde

I am wondering how many of these is in !pclos repo. “Ubuntu Gamer's favourite free and native games for #Ubuntu” — http://2tu.us/2u9g

Trying to work on packaging the Scala programming language for !pclos as a way of learning. Hope that this can help others in future.
-
!pclos Here's an avatar for the group. It's exclusive, hasn't been used anywhere. http://identi.ca/attachment/22641543

Great. Now the Logitech S-150 USB Speaker is working on my !pclos installation. 1 added point to !pclos. I can enjoy my music better now.
-
To verify the download of a !pclos iso file, run md5sum -c pclinuxos-kde4-2010.11.md5sum
-
Maybe other distros in the future such as !Mageia and !PCLOS should provide !Canonical !Ubuntu !Unity optionally as well http://ur1.ca/2hxhb
-
@charlietca1 I am a bit suprised that you send a dent about the !pclos magazine to the !ubuntu and !xubuntu groups :d
-
@sebsebseb Now that you mention it, so am I!
-
-
I've avoided !pclinuxos mostly because of the name. But !pclos has been the most trouble free distro I've tried to date. Very well done!
-
!PCLOS 64bit on the way ...sorta http://goo.gl/fgSTD !linux
-
If !ubuntu is going to be a rolling release I guess it will be like the nice user friendly !pclos !linux distro. http://ur1.ca/2ezz9
-
I am downloading !pclos Gnome, but it is taking quite a long time, nearly half way there though :). #pclos
-
@sebsebseb Should have changed mirror in the beginning, plenty of them listed on the pclinuxos website.
